Found some fun powder and soft windslabs to ski today, sticking mostly to east facing slopes. The higher up you go the worse the ski quality due to wind effect so we stuck mostly to open treeline slopes and below. South and west aspects had temperature crusts. We saw evidence on one large avalanche on a northwest facing slope (see photo) that appeared to be several days old, and possibly triggered by some of the recent sun and warming we had. Theres also some pretty large surface hoar growing below 1400m (up to 10mm crystals) but no surface hoar up higher.
