blue jeans and surface hoar at the microwave

<p>Today we rode at the Microwave. There was light wind out of the SW and 10cm of snow accumulated through the day. We observed no new avalanches. We were able to find the Dec 23rd facet/surface hoar layer on northwest and southeast aspects. During testing we observed easy compression test results on the Dec 23rd facet/surface hoar layer and moderate results in an extended column test that propagated the entire column. This is the first time we have seen the Dec 23rd surface hoar this large and well preserved in the area.</p>
