Little Sifton/Tupper Glacier

Skiing in the Little Sifton and Tupper Glacier areas today. In the alpine there is 30-50 cms of new snow above the Feb 2 melt freeze crust (crust stops around 2400 m).
Surface snow was generally loose and low density, however we did trigger a size 1 wind slab that ran on buried sun crust, 10-30 cms deep. Triggered on the up track after a couple shooting cracks were noticed, on a small slope. The surface snow still felt loose and the wind slab was below this.
Skiing was very good most of the time! Adventurous and often difficult travel in places below 1800 metres (recommend ski crampons for low elevation re from zen skin tracks). It’s cold in the shade, be prepared for that!
