Sunshine and Sastrugi at Sinclair

We had a beauty day traveling along broad alpine ridgetops in the Sinclair zone today. Good visibility allowed us to see a plethora of alpine terrain for the first time this week.
No recent avalanche activity other than a few old small wind slabs were observed. There was around 15 cm. of new snow and great riding in sheltered terrain but the alpine had been blasted by the wind and scoured down to rock on the ridgetops. Moderate easterly winds started to reverse load alpine slopes in the afternoon.
Solar slopes saw a bit of warming in the afternoon, but likely only enough to form a sun crust on steep solar slopes.
Other than avoiding wind slabs, we didn’t have much in the way of avalanche concerns in the areas travelled today.
