Quick Observation

Toured Ffom SSV into Healy Creek. Some sloughing on the steep chute at Dinosaur Head - the lower part had ran a few days ago and snowpack was thin and facetted and barely covered the boulders. Went down secondary drain - much less HS than last year at same time but still really good. Skinned up Big V by working the terrain - the main path had slid all the way to mid way on the fan a few days ago and debris was covered with about 10-15cm of fresh. Higher up we saw that it initiated from a approx size 2 following cornice collapse. Although we wallowed in a few locations in unconsolidated facets, there was little windslab of concern. Absolutely no wind whatsoever at the top of the ridge at 2422m which was surprising. No issues on the way up or down - no cracking or whumpfing. Sun was out but solar input wasnt a huge concern today. If Big V hadn’t ran recently, then we definitely wouldn’t have ventured all the way up. On the way down the Healy Creek bobsleigh run, Wizzard Chutes looked pretty heinous - lack of HS and jingle trees to make life interesting if you’re into that sort of entertainment.
