Very wet/foggy day in Morfee today. Freezing line was about 1300 meters, above was very foggy with near zero visibility. Below was clear and plus temps with the snow getting quite wet by mid afternoon. We dug a pit at 1400 meters in dense trees, and the snowpack is very consolidated with no real issues. It is a very ‘right-side-up’ snowpack right now, with 20-40 cm of fresh on dense consolidated snow. Our tests showed no real reactions; CTM15 down 19 Resistant Planar, and CTH24 down 52 Non Planar Break. The major concern was large (3-5 mm) Surface Hoar developing on the top above 1300 m, it will be something to watch with the new snow coming next week. Stay safe and watch out for tree wells!
