Avalanche Information
Avalanche observations: Slabs are loosing strength as faceting continues. Moonrise Right SS-AB-R1-D1-O FC-12/25 (15cm x 13m x 50m) Stubborn to the radius of the air blast failed on top of the 12/25 crust Outer Limits SS-AB-R1-D1-O FC-12/25 (20cm x 15m x 50m) Stubborn to the radius of the air blast failed on top of the 12/25 crust
Weather
A few high thin clouds, temps warmed to 40 deg at the base area with intense solar. Winds were calm at the base and ridge tops.
Snowpack
Snow surfaces got moist at lower elevations by 1100. Higher elevations with a southerly tilt were also moist late this afternoon. The upper snowpack is continuing to facet and loose cohesion. As the already soft slabs are continuing to break down confidence in the PS structure is growing. Confident the two results from today were pried out by the explosive and not likely to be triggered by a human. Both were slow moving and non destructive. Summary: As the snowpack continues to weaken shaded areas and higher elevation areas still provide soft skiing. Solar aspects will have crusts in the morning until they soften up each day with continued warming temperatures.
