Today we sledded at a new zone to us, Sibola mountain. We saw one size 2 wind slab avalanche fail on a cross-loaded feature in the alpine. The wind was actively loading lee slopes. We also saw a few size 1 loose dry avalanches from steep alpine terrain features. We had overcast skies with occasional sun and periods of snow flurries. Winds were moderate SW. In sheltered treeline areas we found up to 45cm soft snow overlying the meltfreeze crust. We had no significant results in a snow pit.
