Quick Observation

15-20 cm of non-reactive low-density wind deposit in the main couloir overnight made for some great skiing. Easy skinning up to the beginning of the steep convexity before beginning a (relatively) easy and supportive bootpack. Ended up having to boot the upper bowl as well due to a very prominent melt-freeze crust that we couldn’t get an edge into, although thanks to the wind deposited snow on top the crust was barely noticeable on the ski down. Cold crossing the lake in the morning (around -15) and a nice -5 to enjoy a can of AGD in when sitting in the sun at the top of the couloir. Ski down was great low-density pow with minor sluffing, and the moraines were a blast as well. Didn’t see any other groups on skis but there were a handful of snowshoers/hikers out on the trail.

Snowpack

Well-bonded snowpack with 15-20cms of light wind deposit on top. The wind deposited snow was unreactive apart from the top ~1cm which had formed a light wind “skin” and was cracking and falling away as we stepped through it. No cause for concern but if winds continue in the couloir this’ll probably grow into a slab.
