Quick report
To support the recent cornice fall observed on the Grouse Mountain Northeast Upper Chutes, we dug into the snowpack and did a hand hardness and Deep Tap Test to observe the reactivity of Basal Facets. This was due to the observation of the cornice fall resulting in visible bed surface. We dug a pit on a NNW aspect at 9850' to a clarify the depth and reactivity of the forecasted Deep Persistent problem. We performed a DT and got a Sudden Collapse that was 40 cm above the ground where we found large Facets. From our snowpack tests, we confirmed the presence of Deep Persistent slab and its potential.
