Quick report
We first went to the College drainage to check conditions. From what we observed there was enough coverage/snow bridges to gain access on skis but we decided to turn around at the choke point 200 yards up from the bridge on snow machines. Observed some natural avalanches N of Bridge, see avy notes for details. Next went to First Aid and about a mile East to the flat top high point. Overall the area did not get the same rain that Black Rapids Area experienced. A crust layer (likely from melt/thaw or wet snow/rain from last weeks warm spell) was observed at lower elevations. In some spots this crust was thicker and on top of a soft layer underneath. We mainly observed this on ridges and some gullies. This hard layer on top of a weak layer is likely what cause the natural avalanches in loaded areas.
