Quick report
Dug a pit at the bottom of the apron of Catchers Mitt leading up into the “Crux”. 4200’, south face. Wind affected snow on the surface. HS 300+ CMs. Mostly 1 Finger hardness until I got to the mid December double rain/temperature crest combo. ECTP 11 x 2. down 30cms. It has 1F- small developing facets between the 2 crusts. The propagated block took the thicker of the 2 crusts with it, which was the upper crust. 19 degrees at that elevation. We turned around here. Another note, feeling semi confident I found the buried surface hoar, which was only down 15cms but it was significantly decomposing and did not react in either both the ECT or CT tests.
