Observation: Back of Bobs

Quick report

Low danger rating is for mid elevations with very little new snow like the area I skied today. I would speculate that in areas with more snowfall, things are quite different, and tonight's storm will only add to the sensitivity. But if someone is looking for a safe place to ski old settled powder with some not-too-bad crusts mixed in, Back of Bob's is a good place.

Snowpack

Somehow the storm missed Aspen Grove. I was expecting to find good skiing in 8" of powder, but instead found only a skiff betwen 7500 and 8500. Perhaps up higher there is more, but in the mid elevations, the storm was a bust. Correspondingly, the avalanche conditions were completely benign. I encountered nothing but relaxed, well bonded snow.
