Quick report
48cm (1.5') of recent snow on 2/2 melt freeze crust at the North Boundary of Grand Targhee. HS 183cm (6'). We dug at 8400' on a N aspect to assess stability on a mid-elevation shaded aspect. ECTN11 down 48cm on 2/2 interface. ECTN24 down 95cm on mid Jan density break. ECTP25 down 145cm (~4.5ft) on a MF crust/facet interface. The propagation we found on one of the December crust/facet interfaces still points to poor structure on N aspects, however, the stability in the pit was moderate. These deeper layers haven't fully decomposed and facets are well-developed (2-3mm). Our primary layer of concern is still the 2/2 interface but propagation deeper than a meter was unexpected.
