Quick report
Toured into the East fork of Mail Cabin to Moose Brush. Snow depth ranged from 50cm in the canyon floor to 80cm at 8,600'. Top 70cm was unconsolidated cold smoke from the previous days' storms with a variable base of crusts on solar aspects and faceted snow on shaded aspects. The new snow had yet to slab up. When it does, it'll be interesting to see how it interacts with the myriad of basal layers formed in early November.
