Quick report
Toured into Breccia Cliffs today. Surface conditions were soft throughout the day from the TH so we took advantage of the southerly aspects. Surprisingly light wind affect up to 10,400; our highest point right below the cliffs at the wilderness boundary. Of note was a sizeable R3/D2.5 (est from afar) on a due westerly below a cliff band at 10,350' While not a particularly long running path, the propagation was impressive, with a crown looking to be 2-4' in depth (entire snowpack). I would estimate 200' wide propagation and ran about 600-800' We dug on an e/se facing slope at 10,300'. 27 deg. Height of snow was 130cm. 2/2 interface is buried down 30cm at a 2cm melt freeze crust. The new snow is not cohesive and produced no results, except for good skiing. However, below that we found a 1 finger hard slab down to the 1/4 layer, 35 cm above the ground. This produced stubborn results at ECTP26.
