Quick report
We found some great riding conditions today near the Front range. There was about 18 inches of snow from this last storm along the and about a foot or so of snow a mile to the East. The West wind was moving a lot of snow early in the day and made for slabby conditions on slopes affected by the wind. We saw widespread mid storm avalanche activity on Southeast to North facing slopes. The most significant being on the East facing terrain. Most of the activity was loose sluffs but we saw around 5 small slab avalanches in the 10-50 foot wide range.
We did get into some steeper terrain and found a few shallow wind slabs on steep slopes facing east and Northeast. The slide were under a foot deep and 10-15 feet wide.
Overall, the conditions were stable on slopes less than 35 degrees and where the wind had not affected the snow.
