Quick report
Started climb at 1pm. Bluebird day with no clouds, and southerly aspects were getting a good amount of sun. Plenty of tree bombs below about 7000'. A thin layer of hoar frost was still present at these altitudes/times, though snow surface in exposed areas was starting to melt, areas under trees were already packed and crusty from the tree bombs, and a few shaded areas still had relatively dry dense powder. Snow surface melting reduced with increasing altitude and the snow quality became more consistent between sun and shade. Started descent from 7900' at 4pm. Snow above 7500' on flatter southerly aspects did not yet have a sun crust, but as I descended the sun crust became more and more noticeable. Below 7000' the sun crust made for less than enjoyable skiing.

About 12"+ of soft snow on top of hard rain crust.
