Tuckerman Ravine - between Lobster Claw & Right Gully

Traveled from Hermit Lake to our test pit location at 4590 ft between Lobster Claw and Right Gully via Tuckerman Ravine Trail around 11AM. Skinning to our pit location felt easy. Ski penetration varied from 2cm to 5cm. The surface snow along our travels contained quite a bit of moisture leaving our skins soaking wet. During our ascent, the sun was poking in and out of the clouds. At 11:30 around 4590 ft on a South facing slope, wind was light from the West and Northwest. The air temperature measured 8.5 C with overcast skies and no precipitation. By the time we descended around 12:30, it began to lightly sprinkle. We dug a full pit to the ground to see how the warmer temperatures, rain, and fog were affecting the snowpack. A full temperature profile resulted in an isothermal snowpack at our test site. The total depth of snow was 175cm. The top 20 cm of snow (P) was moist. The following 70cm became increasingly more saturated and was 1F. The snowpack alternated layers between P and 1F to the ground. The entire snowpack lacked any sort of dry snow and consisted mostly of moist-wet snow. We found a layer of slush between 70-67 cm. Our stability test yielded no results-ECTX.
