Quick report
Tried to eek out one more day of dry powder today with limited luck. E-NE facing in No Name Bowl was getting damp by 10:00-10:30, wet activity was noted on E through W by afternoon, high north stayed creamy and dense through out the day. Took a look at the snow on a NE slope at about 9900ft was looking for the crust facet sandwich under last weeks new snow load and found it pretty easily, dug down to take a look, noted a fragile crust about 16 inches down with fairly large grained facets underlying, column failed on isolation. That being said I think this is a very spotty problem, couldn't find the same combination on the main face of South Monitor, between skier traffic and wind the facet crust sandwich was not nearly as wide spread or non existent on most of the slope. The facets also seemed to be starting to round. Thinking that wet activity is the major concern now. Snowpack
In the AM melt freeze crust, E,S,W, crust was very thin on E and W, breakable on S aspects, rapidly softening fairly early. Not baked out enough for corn, east 9000ft and below was damp by 10:00am, only high protected due north escaped the day in tacked.
