- <p>Used a small 40degree test slope on a E-NE feature and kicked off a 15" new snow slab that failed on new snow old snow interface. Crown was about 10ft wide. Heard extensive whoomping. </p>

- <p>Dug a pit at 8864ft on a NE aspect with slope angle of 23degrees. Snow Depth 90cm CTM 59 cm from ground. On New Snow Old Snow interface. Q1 SC</p> <p>Pit @ 8864ft (same pit as above) ECTN @51cm from ground failed on our Persistent weak layer of buried facets</p>
Notice thick (1 inch) rain crust on all aspects @8200. Once above 8200 it diminished into a denser layer of snow beneath our skis.
