Snowmachined into lane basin. From the perch, a dappled texture on Lane Glacier called us higher. On the ascent, we triggered a couple of shallow collapses on some stiff old wind slabs. We skinned over some old debris from a larger slab on a southerly aspect. On the glacier, the dappled texture out to be a mirage of sastrugi, eroded facets, and wind crusts. Despite the surface we climbed higher and gained the summit. The descent was different for each of us, but despite some mixed winds and a bit of turbulence, we each managed to find some smooth turns and landed softly back in Lane Basin.
