Quick report
SWE study sample and tour today of 7 meadows. 16 cm (7") to 28 cm (11") of new snow from this last warm atmospheric storm cycle. ASB reporting 15 inches at their Midway site 10800 Snow level quite high to start and gradually cooling off to pile up snow with densities of 15.3% to over 21%. Close to 2 inches of water in this storm cycle. No signs of instability were observed and pit results were CTN and STN with new snow bonding well to old snow surface despite a melt freeze layer when storm started. The Rime Ice factor delayed operations once again but the crew got the Gondola spinning by early morning. There could be some rime ice melting out of the trees to create a bit of disturbance in the force. Ski penetration was around 30 cm and skiing was superb early morning but changed rapidly with the solar gain of the march sun over head. The coverage is good out there but still beware of logsticles. Lots of traffic in the Meadows today everyone having a great experience. Very little wind with this system for a change. Yay March powder spring skiing conditions!
