This avalanche in Daly Canyon appears to have been naturally triggered sometime on the 28th of December and failed to the ground. There was not a lot of snow in this area prior to the Thanksgiving storms and subsequent dry spell. Rain on the evening of the 28th reached at least 8k' and has left a thin breakable crust as well as poor skiing conditions. We did not travel far off the beaten path but there was no other obvious avalanche activity and it would appear that the rain has changed the equation again at this elevation.
