Quick report
Went for a quick sunset lap on Peak 3 to celebrate the return of snow to the area. We found there's still thin coverage down low and on all exposed terrain features. In protected areas we found up to 6" of soft snow, yet this was fairly variable as winds had redistributed the snow around. The skiing was great as the new snow gave enough cushion before you hit the hard and icy slab we have been so familiar with all season.
Travel was slippery at times so ski crampons, crampons, and other sharps may not be a bad idea.

Mostly clear skis and warm temps made it a pleasent afternoon. Winds were calm till ridgetop where they were moderate and moving the fresh snow.
Snowpack
Snowfall has returned to the front range! We found 1"-6" of fresh soft snow on the surface depending on how proteced of terrain we were in. The soft snow is sitting on top of firm, icy surfaces or barely conceling rock and tundra. The skiing was great and in spots the powder felt deep. Outside of the gully, coverage is still very low and there is just a thin strip of ice and snow back to the road.
