Found generally stable conditions and good riding quality. 3-5" of new snow has covered the melt freeze crust formed yesterday and our tracks from the weekend. The crust varies in hardness by aspect and elevation. More new snow can be found on wind drifted terrain. There was some slight wind loading at the peak, but no shooting cracks or enough slab development to initiate a fracture.
Cold temperatures and cloudy skies kept snow surfaces cool until departure at 13:00. A few intense squalls produced around 1" of snow. Light-moderate W/NW wind. Plenty of dry snow available for transport. There's a lot of recent snow that could be susceptible for wet snow avalanches once temperatures warm ad skies clear completely.
Coverage actually improved after the big storm last week. The approach and departure has just enough bushwacking and thin coverage to keep you honest. Expect this coverage to dissapear quickly with warm temps.
