Quick report

Started from the Manitoba lot at 12:00. Clear, calm, sunny, 20°. Standard uptrack up Fresno fridge. Lots of big feathery sparkly hoar frost on the surface of the snowpack. Probed 140cm deep at 1500ft elevation, could feel the usual suspect crust layers in the snowpack and against the (not frozen!) dirt. Probed 140cm deep at 2100ft elevation and was surprised to no longer be able to feel any of those crust layers. Up on the ridge line lots of wind effected snow, some areas styrofoam-y and punchy, with some surprising powder pockets. Did not note any whumfing or shooting cracks. Probed 135cm at 2200ft elevation, felt very dense on the top 95cm. Skinned up to 3000ft elevation, snowpack variable, lot of wind effect, and lichen poking out. Skiied down the north face of the ridge and it was excellent powder farming. Back where we started at 4:45pm.
