Similar weather and snow observations from Alex and Noah today... Stubborn and stiff wind slabs found near the ridgelines with no cracking or collapsing. However, in the upper elevations on the north side of the compass and out of the wind, storm slabs were very sensitive to ski cuts on steep rolls producing wide propagation. Storm slabs were failing on preserved stellars and decomposing fragments, this was a few centimeters above the frozen melt form grains (New/Old Interface ) prior to our recent storm cycle. Sizes were all D1 with depths of around 20cm. This activity was not noted on steep solar slopes today, but is something to keep in mind if traveling in higher alpine terrain where you may find preserved weaker snow below our recent storm slab regardless of the aspect given the higher elevations, and will likely will find sensitive wind slabs in those elevations as well. We left the field near 14:30, a few pops of sun and lull between convective snow pulses at that time gave the snow time to settle a bit and crack around skis while traversing the SE ridge towards Twin Slide.
