Blowing snow was observed throughout the day as the W winds transported surface snow into Tumalo bowl.
Avalanche
Skier triggered cornice failure then triggered a D1 wind slab in Tumalo bowl on an E facing aspect NTL. The crown at its deepest was 30cm, the avalanche itself was 70-80m wide, and ran for 60-70m. Nobody was caught. Cornices were observed to be quite present and overhanging in nature.
