New snow over a buried surface hoar at mid elevation created a touchy storm slab. This structure did not exist at upper elevations due to wind and at lower elevations due to rain. Shooting cracks reaching 50ft on an isolated feature. Jumping on the cornice of a test slope caused a storm slab release 18in deep.
