We did several short laps on low angle N aspects on Red Mtn. between 7100 and 7700'. Sunny day, no wind, warm by midmorning. At 7700' N aspect, hs 100cm, large facets buried 70cm deep with a firm layer just above them. The facets existed everywhere we traveled but we only saw N aspects. On our third lap up the same skin track around 12:30 we experienced 4 or 5 snowpack collapses around 7200', N aspect. Ski pen everywhere we went was about boot top in 30-45cm of snow from this week. We experienced a few small rollerballs in the early afternoon around 7700' but the surface snow generally stayed very cold and light. Overall impression of stability in this zone - not good.
