Quick report

Climbed the first big NE gully to 10100' then descended the N face of Mini Morrison/Mono Jim on Sunday. The morraine has just enough snow to climb with just a little dry walking. Solar aspects had a good freeze overnight. Ski crampons required. At 9800', steep ENE aspect was almost soft corn. Otherwise the NE gully held a mix of soft and firm surfaces. No instability noted. N face was very firm except where the aspect tended to more easterly. Only a small amount (5cm?) of new snow appears to have fallen in last week's storms. Entrance was thin and bounded by exposed rocks. Exit was easy - a tongue of snow extended within 100 or 200 feet of the walking trail near the lake edge.
