Quick report

Variable surfaces, cold temps, and chilly north winds describe today. 

  • All aspects held a crust below 10K, minus the most sheltered areas, that did not really thaw, even in direct sunlight. Graupel was found under this crust below 10300'.
  • NTL and ATL northerlies held slick surfaces, P-K hard wind board, and old 1F Wind Slabs that were unreactive. 
  • Some ATL southerlies held wind deposits that were up to 10cm thick, 1F, unreactive. Crusts did not thaw unless in direct sunlight at the heat of the day.
