We planned to ski the North chute of Black but on the way up the N shoulder, we found super wind affected snow that was difficult to skin through. We headed towards the N ridge and eventually switched to booting. On the ridge we found more variable snow with patches of sastrugi and what seemed to be a breakable (albeit stout) rain crust. After summiting Black we decided to pivot and ski down the East face instead. On the east face we found more favorable snow for skiing although we were a little late ski the conditions were hot pow
