We were targeting high northerly aspects to look for signs of any potential persistent slab problems on our old October snow layer near the ground. Although there is still a small, faceted layer under ~2 feet of snow, it did not produce any alarming test results or signs of instability. Significant loading could change that. The 6" of new snow was reactive on steep slopes above 12k. 

Shallow cracking and sensitive slabs up to 6" deep above treeline in the new snow. No deeper signs of instability.

Exposed areas in Robinson Basin and at ridgetop had moderate winds with light transport. Snowfall rates increased through the afternoon to S3.

Snowpack

Three pits above 11.800' produced hard, non propagating results (ECTN) at the 10/28 interface (.8-1.0 mm rounding facets, 4F- at lowest site, F at highest site). 

Storm interface about 3" to 6" deep is low density snow on northerlies, crusts on south to east facing terrain.  Snow coverage has melted back and is pretty patchy on steep southerlies.

We human triggered a couple of thin storm slabs, both on southerly and northerly aspects above treeline. They were harmless in size.
