Snow is so variable in the area right now. We hiked through 24" all the way down to fresh 4" ontop of rocks. There has been a lot of wind the last few days causing havock onthe little snow we have had. As you see in the video there are 3 to 4 layers depending on where we checked. Top 8" is fairly cohesive then an ice layer ontop of a semi bonded layer ontop of sugar at the ground level. The biggest issue at the moment is more hidden logs and branches just below the surface. There just isn't enough snow to manage safely.
