Traveled from Beartrap Fork trailhead to the NW facing glades on Silver Peak. At 0830 snowfall was 1-2" per hour, this was sustained for about an hour, snowfall stopped for the remainder of the tour (1130). No avalanche activity was observed. We stuck to terrain below 30 degrees and enjoyed excellent powder skiing.

Instability Comment

In and at treeline, there was 1' of new unconsolidated snow. Above treeline there was +2' of new snow with up to 4' in wind drifted areas. Found the new snow to be generally right side up.

In and at treeline winds were calm to light, quite a bit of the new snow was still sitting in the trees. Above treeline winds were light to moderate out of the N-NW. Snow was actively transported and loading onto E-S aspects. Cornices continued to build at ridge lines on E-S aspects.
