Pit dug as part of Level 1 class. Shovel Shear, CT and Extended CT completed. 6180 ft elevation, West Aspect, 25 degree slope. Depth 150cm. New snow of 5 cm from overnight was not sticking to the crust that had formed day prior / 20-Jan and was breaking loose on CT1. An uneven fracture on the ECT at 20cm at CT12, NO Propagation or Failure Fracturing of the columns occurring at the 45cm mark in both CT and ECT at CT28 with NO propagation and NO failure of the columns. Heavy ice layer noted around 110cm (likely early December rain event), however no fracturing occurring on any test for that layer.
