Quick report
We traveled in the lower elevations around 4000 feet finding soft wet snow and a generally thin snowpack depth of about 1 to 1.5 feet at this elevation. Visibility to parts of the Selkirk crest (east aspects of: upper McCormick creek, Gunsight, and Chimney Rock area) was good and we did not observe any natural avalanche activity.
Weather
Above freezing temperatures. Skies transitioned from mostly sunny to partly cloudy at around noon. mid day. The thin cloud cover decreased sun intensity and the amount of mid day warming. Visibility was generally good except for a few intermittent inversion clouds.
