observed the whole snowpack had been saturated, and 20 degree temps is helping to lock things back up a bit. New snow appeared to be bonding to the old snow well ECTN On surface hoar layer that developed on December 24th. Even though the entire snowpack had been saturated from rain earlier in the week, this layer is still present in isolated areas

10.3" of snow has fallen since 12/7. Temps stayed around 20 degrees all day

Snowpack

Pit dug on N/NE aspect at 6,250 feet. HS was 90cm, in a wind loaded area. New snow appeared to be bonding well to old know. The old snow was saturated from rain and was still wet and mushy. Small melt freeze crust formed above and below surface hoar layer, but the surface hoar was still intact. ECT resulted in no propagation- yesterday this layer propagated with moderate force in the same location
