Took a long road ride up to back side of Werner and enjoyed soft winter snow in the low angle rolling trees between 5500 and 6000 ft. Didn’t even consider riding any steep open terrain. On our way out we spotted this burly hard slab release and confirmed (through second hand knowledge by a rider not in our group) that this was triggered by a rider from the bottom of the slope and nobody was caught. Textbook location for this to occur, with protected terrain at the bottom of the slope that would be harboring preserved surface hoar, and a 35-40 degree NE facing slope above that was massively wind loaded. Our group experienced several big settlements in small forest clearings.
