Quick report
We traveled into the terrain East of the WMR boundary as we have not received recent observations from this area.
- No signs of recent avalanches, no cracking in the new snow, no evidence of WL activity in the afternoon. Snow consolidated throughout the day (nearing 4F hardness), especially as we descended in elevation.
- Propagating results (non-repeating) down ~20in on a MF crust interface on a northerly aspect.
- Supportable crust was found on all aspects and elevations. Digging revealed this crust to be 3-6in thick and P hardness.
- The crust did increase the travel distance of small sluffs while skiing in steeper terrain.
- Cornices were stubborn and non-reactive with no recent wind loading.
There was no motorized traffic in the canyon today. Construction has not yet begun on WMR's expansion project into the Canyon [April Fools].

Trace snow continued until 1400. Low clouds offered poor visibility throughout the day. Light SW winds on exposed ridges that transported very small amounts of snow during gusts.
Snowpack
- N aspect , 6700'
- HS=320cm (leeward)
- 15cm new snow (F)
- Image to be added: Multiple crusts in the upper snowpack including a thin MF crust (1F) from Tuesday's warming beneth new snow, and a ~10cm crust (P) from the warming that occured March 24th-27th.
- ECTP22 down ~50cm on MF interface.
- Repeated test, and received ECTN28 on the same layer
- ECTN12+14 down ~10cm on storm snow interface, ECTN19 +17down ~20cm on soft snow beneath crust
- SW aspect, 6700'
- HS=90cm (windward)
- Similar upper snowpack structure to the N aspect pit. Bottom 35cm of snowpack was F hard with a minimal amount of depth hoar striations (rocky ground).
