Quick report
Quick Christmas jaunt to deploy a remote snow camera in the Swan Lake area.
- Travel over dirt, around blowdown, and in the rain dampened my holiday spirits.
- Oversnow travel became feasible, though tedious at 5000 feet.
- The snowpack at 5800 feet consisted of ~ 2 feet of moist to wet snow.
- There were small amounts of recent snow visible on the trees above 6600 feet.
This camera will help us monitor snowfall in the Swan Lake area and was made possible by Flathead Electric Cooperative's Rounup for Safety program. Thank you FEC! If you come across such a setup, please do not disturb.
