Observation: Red Baldy

Skied the face. Surface snow was heavily wind affected, e.g. ripples, variable surface texture and density. Dug to the ground half way up (circa 10,500'). Cut out the sides, jumped on it from uphill.. took several hops to get it to give out and only the consolidated storm snow let go. Got some wind board to break and slide while skinning higher up; didn't entrain more snow or cause anything else to go. Snow on the ski down was variable: grabby, sugary, firm, and loose. Came across past avy debris, but present conditions weren't dangerous.
