Quick report

Red Flags
Wind Loading, Rapid Warming, Poor Snowpack Structure

Route was east Butler to Wilson Glade to Butler basin. 9-3pm

Noticed a little snow transport at highest ridges in afternoon.

Only cold instability I saw was the East bowl slide previously reported here https://utahavalanchecenter.org/avalanche/43421

Few small cornices I played with we're very stubborn.

Heating wise did see some fresh point releases guessing round 1pm.

Surface wise,

Surface hoar pockety on Wilson peak. Maby thin clouds on peaks? Saw surface faceting elsewhere.

I didn't dig. Ski patrol is still triggering slides is bullseye info on persistent slab.

Glue under our surface crust is weakening/facets growing underneath. Wind crust bond seems weaker to me than the m/f.

Think the m/f crust got larger today creeping higher and further out on compass. Lower drainage was warm n mushy on exit.

Pics.

1. East bowl slide previously reported.

2. Surface hoar on Wilson peak

3. Wet slide into Butler basin

4. A big tree.
