- <p>Yesterday's warmth caused rollerballing and some wet slides, even with the cloud cover and fog. Things were stable on upper elevation north slopes through noon, when I had to leave. </p>
First photo, a cut from yesterday was mostly filled in, showing how much the snow was moving around. The ridges at 9400' were definitely wind sculpted, and some hard wind crusts were present, along with softer snow. Just a bit of minor cracking, cuts did not produce any other movement. Cuts aren't very reliable on the hard windslab, but that was limited to the highest ridges.
Lots of rollerballing and wet debris below 8300'. The exit to 6300' (around noon) was challenging, with hard crusts in the shade, and wet snow in the sun. I did a separate post on a sizable wet slide that looks to have run yesterday in Hells.
Snowpack
Still good snow on North slopes above 8300'. Wind scoured at 9400', and a mix of conditions on other aspects.
