- Wind Loading, Poor Snowpack Structure
Toured up Toledo bowl, skied Holy Toledo, exited back to LCC. About 1" had fallen on south aspects LCC as of 1pm. In Upper Cardiff, there was 3-5" of new snow. We observed moderate to strong winds out of the North and Northwest, that was already beginning to transport the fresh snow. Looking towards tomorrow, be especially alert for wind loaded areas as there is now snow to transport (picture). We did not see any cracking or collapsing, or any evidence of a slab forming beyond areas impacted by wind. North facing, protected terrain had soft, weak snow surfaces. Solar aspects had a supportable crust.
