Toured up the West ridge of Peak 10420. Experienced many collapses underfoot on our second lap up our skin track.
Dug a quick pit on the NE side of the 10420 summit around 1pm. Found generally poor snowpack structure with facet layers down 80cm or so and an interesting graupel layer down 40cm. Tests yielded a CT7 with a sudden planar fracture and a ECT14 with a sudden collapse. Both fractured on the October facets around 90-80cm down after the recent snow.
