Quick report

widespread

The storm finally delivers! Observed lots of wind transported snow on ridges and set off multiple storm slabs avalanches throughout the day, many of them remotely triggered. The instability was consistent on all aspects and mainly observed around 6000 - 6500 ft.  Both of the bigger slides I posted photos of appeared to be sliding on the Dec 22nd layer.

Observed Storm Slab avalanches on all aspects above 5800 feet. Many had crowns up to 2.5ft deep sliding on a hard crust I assume from around Dec 22nd. Slides were both directly and remotely triggered. Anything that was steep enough without brush or anchors we could get to move if we tried. Many propagated very wide even in thick tree cover.
