3” in Essex and 8-10” at my high point of 7000. New snow was a little upside down. Light snow with moderate wind in the morning gave way to sun breaks by mid day and on my exit solar aspects were getting wet. While skiing I stuck to north facing trees, had several audible collapses including one with shooting cracks where I turned around. Defensive skiing with ski cuts yielded lots of soft storm slabs, the biggest was about 100’ wide and ran 600-800’.
